Just go and explore, there's lots of trails to ride around but it's not so big that you can get really lost.

Wharncliffe though, there is scope for getting lost and ending up with a massive climb to get back to the carpark.

Can't help with the food stop though.

Can’t think of a food stop immediately around Greno Woods, which direction you coming from?

If you park in the Grenoside Woods car park on Woodhead road, Greno Woods is the other side of the road.

Plenty of places in Hillsborough to eat, or a couple of pubs in Grenoside, think the little shop near the Old Red Lion does sarnies.

Of the three main runs in Greno Pub Run is the easiest - straight in front of you as you come from the car park. The middle one is the Steel City DH which now has 3 gaps jumps all with alternate lines.

Here’s a vid of pub run and steel city (before the new gaps):  https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=yyWwmuqktXs

Also a few vids of Wharncliffe runs on my channel.

Enjoy, it’s good fun.

As others have said, park at the Greno car park and head over the road. The track goes into the woods a short way, then you will see the first of the "DH" tracks "Pub Run". It isn't steep, and everything is rollable.

When you get to the bottom, turn right and follow the fire road back to the top. From the top of pub run (facing down the hill), turn left to get to the other tracks "steel city" and "dh3".

From the bottom of each track you can go either direction and follow fire roads back to the top. It's not a big forest, and there are other things to explore.

For food, depends what you are after. Assuming you have come from the M1 j35a, along Stockbridge bypass, then if you get back onto that road and towards Manchester you will see signs for Fox Valley, there are several food options in there. Otherwise, from the Greno car park turn right into Grenoside and there's a pub on the left.

Pub Run (the first trail you come to by the crossroads) is the easiest. Turn right at the end to head back up.

Steel City (turn left at the crossroads from the car park and it's a couple of hundred metres on your right) is the middlest. All rollable apart from a couple of features you can go round, so take it steady first run. You can head either way up the fireroad to get back up.

DH3 (another 100m up from Steel City on the same side, past a fireroad) is the hardest of the three officials. Starts of flattish with big (rollable or avoidable) jumps, gets a bit steep and slippy at the bottom. Left on the fireroad to get back up.

Not loads of food around there, but if you head back to the M1 via the A616 there's a Mcdonalds and some roadside cabin type places. Some of the pubs in Grenoside village might do food.

**edit** d'oh! Too slow.
