Die Hard, Predator, The Hunt For Red October.

All made by the same director one after the other, thats a pretty good run of '80s classics.

But no, Back to the Future wins but someone said it already

Too right! Predator was shite then and is shite now. As for the kids' films, I was a bit old for those in the 80s.

They Live was awesome, as was The Thing. In fact, every John Carpenter film from the 80's was pretty good!

1988 They Live
1987 Prince of Darkness
1986 Big Trouble in Little China
1984 Starman
1983 Christine
1982 The Thing
1981 Escape from New York
1980 The Fog

"The big blue." Weirdly brilliant, depressing and uplifting all at the same time. Plus you get a tantalising peek at Rosanna Arquett's lovely bits.

There are some great films listed above which would be worthy of a shot at the title were it not for one simple fact. The greatest film ever was made in 1987 so as it's the greatest film of all time, it is also, by default, the greatest film of the 80s.

I give to you,

The Princess Bride!
