Of course most of you won't know who the hell I am talking about
I think you'll find most of us here grew up with comedies like It Ain't Half Hot Mum.
ohhh it was actually a comedy
I watched an episode last year. It was funny, which is natural enough when you have Croft and Perry involved, Windsor Davies etc. Of course, it is currently on trend to say that it couldn't possibly be any good because of the blackface, treatment of sexuality, etc, but nevertheless it had some amusing parts. At around the same time I watched a very early Likely Lads episode, which was deeply unfunny and revolved around one, not very good joke. The girl that one of them was too shy to talk to while on holiday was actually from down the road and not Spanish like he thought. Oh, my sides! 😀
TBH I never got it,I think I was just too young and just didn’t like sitcoms.
I liked Kenny Everett (he also did some black face which I’d forgotten about.) and the young ones and Bottom , I didn’t mind black adder,
I think I’ve just got an odd sense of humour and it may be the bit of rebellious punk in me that finds sitcoms a bit meh.
(I like Chris Brookmyre type humour so do have a sense of humour but I think it’s more grittier/grim/possibly offensive if anyone’s vaguely interested)
