I got a new goretex jacket last week, all is well and I expect to be dry when next out in the rain.
I noticed on the tag that it is breathable, allows sweat to leave but will keep the rain out.
How does it know which way is which and what happens if I wear it inside out 😀

IIRC, vapour can pass freely through it, but liquid cannot. Sweat evaporates and can pass through, rain is, well, liquid.

Though it works best with a high difference for breathability so it breaths better when your sweating hard and it'd dry and hot outside.
