Depends where you're coming from/going to, but there are plenty of nice pubs in Hayfield, or the Ring O' Bells in Marple itself.

Would travel out a bit to the pack horse on new mills rd only 5/10mins up the road from Marple and it does the best steak & ale pie in the world. Marple pubs are a bit crap for food, very over priced

Hare and Hounds in Mill Brow. Best food around here. Very good value for money too

Or if you ride further afield, the Old Hall Inn in Chinley is bloody brilliant and they don't mind feral, skanky mountain bikers steaming nicely in front of the fire.

Where did you end up going?

We like the Ring'o Bells. Fairly decent portions and inexpensive, family friendly too
