They haven't even got to the good ones yet!

Presumably Hero and Monkey Wrench for the encore?

Hoping they'll do Rope.

Apparently Grohl has said they have 'something special' planned...

How can members of No Use for a Name, Scream, and the Germs play such long winded boring music?

Maybe they are older and their tastes have mellowed and changed like lots of peoples do.

I bet it's more interesting to play than the songs those bands produced (i am a fan of No Use for a Name), plus they get to play in front of huge audiences like Glastonbury.

I'm gonna say Everlong unless they opened with that, I missed the first bit

Soundman for the Jackson's is going to get shot. The mics are all over the place. They're pressing on though.

They're a bit weird, some parts even seem to be influence by gregorian chant/church music! ๐Ÿ˜† Dunno if I like them or not.

The other mob were alright btw, lead guitarist was annoying me though.

Hadn't seen the Foo Fighters before so I've given it a good go.

Right about now though, Spiral Scratch comes to mind.

G'nite.

'Run' by the FF. That was energetic. A highly entertaining set so far.

It's just pretty old fashioned rock n roll. Not meant to be edgy or arty, just good old loud fun. And on that level they work very well.

The audio equivalent of a brain off action film.

I'm more than fine with that...

According to MyFitnessPal, drumming is 260-300 kcal/hour. I guess this is an average, TH is more than average in terms of energy. It's mostly an upper body workout as I think you can probably tell

Simple beer throwing, sing along, mosh, crowd interaction fun is quite a contrast to Radiohead's "experience" from last night.

I switched over from Download on Sky arts and I have to say Foo Fighters now seem quite middle of the road by comparison

Whaaaat. Brilliant performance by the Foos. They've got the crowd in their hands.

Dave Grohl and the crowd interaction has been great, 'have you got one more song in you? How about two more songs? What about three?' Que crowd chanting 10 more songs ๐Ÿ˜†

Crowd won't stop singing and Grohl pipes up with 'this will take 3hours if your don't stop singing' que crowd chanting '3 more hours!'.

Great crowd report! Songs have been ok even if he can't do the "last one ting before I quit but.." all in one breath any more!

"Ten more f***s" was a quintessentially British chant too...

Do they do that VIP area shite at the front of the stages at Glastonbury now?

Nope, that's just a crush barrier. The circle is still accessible from the sides. It's on the pyramid only as far as I remember.

Plenty of good stuff at Glasto this year, gutted to miss out on this one. Watching fools and Radiohead in front of the TVwas great but not the same.

Loved Foos first 3 albums but the set tonight was tedious. Too much yapping and faffing - just get on with the music. And a effing keyboard player! You know a band has lost it when out comes a keyboardist doing who knows what? If the song doesn't have keyboards in it then kindly 'do one' until it's time for your 5 minutes of fame.

FF appeal completely lost on me. Quiet bit, fast and loud, shouty, slow it down a bit then speed it up again: repeat. Naw, not for me, though I did try. Stormzy tho', yeah I can see the appeal & I'm 57 ffs!

You've never heard of Jon Lord then? The keyboards added another level. What a performance!

Stormzy was good.. Flicking from bbc2-4, red button only thing I found was Cabbage. Have seen em live so know what its about, (if Foo Fighters are brainless action film, Cabbage are one of those British 70s Confessions Of.. films) can imagine they sound a mess if you just catch a live set on tv! Everything else was terrible.

Cheers Jamie, will have a look for more of the R1 stuff.

Does seem odd that there's no video coverage from any of the dance stages, but you've got 5 stages of whiny middle aged cockbags and a token West Holts. Probably the notion that it's not as visually arresting as a five piece band...

it has been a dismal choice of acts this year. the festival is changing direction, what way i don't know , commercial? i guess you need to be there ,but from the coverage so far, i've yet to be impressed .
