Anyone had experience of getting a metal frame made to order - something like a metal basis for a garden bench out of steel or aluminium.
Where's best to get this done?

I had some mild steel components made for a desk and used a steel fabricators. I gave them the design/specifications and visited them to see what kind of finish I could expect and what options were available. You might get a local recommendation, but a good start would be a web search for fabricators and bespoke metalworkers.

You could also try a blacksmith. My local one (not Manchester) does the old bit of welding.
