Currently in Morzine enjoying a break from the world with my family. Our eldest son and his girlfriend are flying in to Geneva in a couple of days to join us.
Has anyone done the drive to the French sector of Geneva airport from Morzine and how hassle free is it?  Or does any one know of a cost effective way to get to Morzine  from the airport on a Friday evening without me driving to pick them up!

Tell them to get the train to Thonon and pick them up at the station.

Yes but it was years ago. The journey itself was hassle free, the airport was really busy because it was a few days before Etape du Tour so thousands of extra people were flying in.

Not sure if that'll be a factor this time, the Tour de France is in that area (Geneva and Lyon being the closest airports to the next 2-3 stages) so it could be very busy.

My wife and daughter came out while I was in Chatel 2 weeks ago. They took the train to Thonon and I picked them up from the train station. It’s only a 30min upriver from chatel. It’s almost 2 hours to Geneva airport - driving though Geneva is a royal pain in the ass.

in other years, I organised a shared shuttle, but they didn’t seem to be running this summer. On the other hand, I think that Skiddy Gonzales still seems to be running from Morzine.

I've used Skiidy Gonzales and driven (to the Swiss side) of Geneva airport. Both were fine. Just over an hour to drive to the airport and maybe more like 2 hours with Skiidy. Only bad experience with Skiidy was when we had a shared transfer and someone's plane was delayed 2 hours (so we're we as a result).

Thanks for the reply’s. Skiddy are still about but very expensive. The train to Thonon is a good idea I’ll look in to that.

Not driven to the French side but done Samoens to the Swiss side the back way out of Taninges to Annemasse loads of times. Can't imagine getting to the French side takes much longer. Usually about an hour ish, unless roadworks.... From Morzine would take a bit longer I suppose.

The train to Thonon plan sounds better though.
