Why does everyone assume that more people going to university is the way forward?

Students don't count on the unemployment figures. Get lots of people at uni and BAM! Instant drop in unemployment.

I hate to say it but Farage hit the nail on the head: improve education at the school level.

Painfully, Nick clegg seems quite good, however how he can ever say that cutting money on education is wrong is bloody unbelievable!

Going to university is important as it gives you the skills to get a higher value job. The problem we have is that we aren't creating higher value jobs. Uk Productivity, a measure of higher value jobs, has been stagnant since 2007. It's worse than many eu countries.

3. Sturgeon - for being able to put others in their position.

Not even that popular with those of her own party, who could actually be bothered to vote,sort of says it all.

regardless of who you thought won(I don't particularly care, it's in the eye of the beholder). I was pleasantly surprised by the debate. It was better than my, very low, expectations.

Overall, I think they more or less all came out not bad.

Farage looked very squirmy at one point though. Although he probably appealed to his rabid core support.

I thought stugeon did well, and the fear the tories have been peddling about a lab minority governemnt with the SNP keeping them in check may well be lessoned a little.

I think that's the ultimate outcome. Overall, not a bad night for labour, despite Ed continuing along with his overly coached puppet routine.

My final observation is one that is especially relevant during a general election campaign - that, to quite a large extent, the political debate on the economy suffers from an illusion of control
