My mum was telling me all about it last night, she can't wait.
Tried to get the message across that it our version of Fox, but she barely took breath

Gammon Broadcasting….
As long as it keeps them off of the mainstream news channels then good with me.
Heard an advert for this on the radio last week. Even the advert sounded massively jingoistic. I can imagine it's all over the Union flag and national anthem at the start and end of the broadcast.
All the reaction from the twitterati is that it was a dog's dinner / hostage video.
And like someone said it's a delicate balance for them is if they shift a bit too Foxy then the sponsors will pull out. And by the looks of it they're scratching pennies together as it is. I've seen stills from Neil's opening monologue and it looks like the post apocalypse gameshow from Mitchell & Webb
What's Gloria de Piero doing there?
The worry for me is that Fox news allowed mass exposure to antivax, qanon, covid-denying, trump etc etc, stuff that's beyond normal right wing populism and into batshit territory
Plenty of Tory MPs will happily pander to GB news, but in America that brand of republicanism has become a monster they can't control.
Edit
Yep turns out that's exactly what's happened

they'll run foul of OFCOM if they go too conspiratorial.
No Dian Abbott? Surely he needs a woke, lefty, member of the metropolitan neoliberal elite to bounce off.

I mean, look at the state of this lot.
Who's paying for it? Brexit-backing disaster capitalists, unsurprisingly.
Stupidly tunes in last night for 5 minutes and that was plenty.
Got the same feeling when I'm walking through the woods and someone had picked up dog shit in a bag then hung it from a branch at face height. What's the point and a little bit sick
The great thing is that it sequesters a certain type of presenter and viewer in one spot away from the rest of us where they can fester quietly together, and hopefully ends the careers of a good few of them.
BBC Complaints department might enjoy some quiet days.

Finally these silenced voices will be heard!!
No Laurence Fox? I is disappoint.
I noticed they were advertising for graphic designers a while back, but I doubt every brief of "yeah... red white and blue only, at least 5 Union Jacks in every shot and big bold type in caps" every day would be that rewarding
You should have gone for the gig for the purposes of glorious subversion.
Ok some sort of power dynamics in the picture. All males are shoulders forward straight to camera all females coyly at an angles.
they’ll run foul of OFCOM if they go too conspiratorial.
I'm absolutely certain they'd love the opportunity to stand up for freedom of speech against the woke metropolitan elite 🙄
Where America goes we follow.
Just always a slightly lower rent version though.
Is this a new version of Drop the Dead Donkey???
I imagine that like its target audience, it will loiter around stinking of wee for while then quietly die

Sadly I suspect not, the 52% who voted for Brexit will probably love it's unabashed racist subtext.

Slightly? They look like they've just rolled in from an all-nighter without bothering to change.
How long until Andrew Neil goes on the run like Brett O'keefe from Homeland, broadcasting the 'real agenda' from a disused tube station with Farage as his side kick.
I should write into Jim'll Paint it to get that one made up.
We 'need' these voices of discontent and gammony content - all good democracies require dissenting voices to function properly. We should all be glad they are here :o)
As for this...
All males are shoulders forward straight to camera all females coyly at an angle
Blokes all want to look broad shouldered and threatening while the ladies are trying to look slim and attractive. Gender identity innit :o)

Agree. I expect it to become very popular as it is "telling it like it is" and will appeal to a lot of people in this country. It is moving them into a bubble of biased views which as others have said could be dangerous as the views are going to be easily swayed by more and more BS.

You're new here? STW tends to like mostly truthful sources of information instead of bullshit hawkers.

I once thought that about UKIP and BNP.
'racists' 'gammons' = oh the irony from you lot.
they’ll run foul of OFCOM if they go too conspiratorial.
Not to forget that Bojo has been trying to get Paul Dacre installed as head of Ofcom, so he can have officially Ofcom sanctioned Racism, Homophobia and general bigotry....
Brett O’keefe from Homeland
I did enjoy that character. He seemed totally OTT from here in the UK, but probably quite normal for the USA.....

Without someone regularly reporting them to Ofcom every time they start pushing BS it will gain traction and we've seen from America where that leads.
I'm all for discussion about whether lockdown works etc. But it has to be fact based showing both sides.
‘racists’ ‘gammons’ = oh the irony from you lot.
Please explain. 'Gammon' is a term applied to a certain type, often unpleasant, who demonstrate a ruddy appearance whilst ranting against a variety of subjects, 'bloody foreigners' and the EU being two prime examples. They also tend to dislike progress and equality seeing these as bad things.
In what universe can this be termed as racist?

This is where the BBC went wrong, this ridiculous idea that there needs to be "balance".
There are facts and truths. Then there are opinions.
You don't balance out your interview with an astronaut by giving a Flat Earther 10 minutes airtime as well.
In what universe can this be termed as racist?
The Gammonverse.
this is like a 24/7 surreal comedy skit. DEEPLY enjoying the awful video call quality and the least professional couch on TV. and the adverts pandering to old rich people. It's a good time
5 mins today , 1 white bloke. 1 black bloke and 2 women all looked so bored trying to chat to each other about nothing and hating each other, but politically correct for some, and all sitting in a plastic box, thats not a tv.

You missed "will most likely have a flag pole in their front garden flying a union jack the wrong way"
all good democracies require
dissenting voicesan involved, informed and educated population to function properly.

Like others I was intrigued so I watched it a bit, on and off for a few hours.
Being frank, based on only what I saw, it was, well a News channel, not a televisual portal into hell, I saw nothing to have my Centrist bile raised, I didn't shout at the screen. It was the same old, same old, Covid, EU Trade, Israeli Elections, Football, G7 meeting etc. I didn't notice any real bias at first, well, nothing like you might see in a Tabloid or the Telegraph.
Then, it happened.
Some chap, I don't know who, he was mid-tirade when I tuned in, was giving a speech on England Players taking a knee and the BLM movement. This wasn't a discussion, it was a monologue, a televisual version of a Daily Mail column.
His stance was pretty clear, by taking a knee, the Players were endorsing the BLM movement and by extension everything that anyone has ever ever said in the name of BLM, including 'defunding the Police' and the destruction of capitalism etc, in short any time, anyone, be they a Celebrity or Sports Person takes a knee, they're calling the complete destruction of your way of life whether you like it, or not. Booing people taking the knee, was not racist at all (I'm sure they have loads of Black friends).
It was one of the oldest tricks in the world, rather than explaining that BLM is actually a decentralised movement of people who think Racism, and Police Brutality directed toward Black people is bad, it's actually a large, highly organised, scary organisation with shady plans for all of us.
The sad thing is that, because of the way the world is now, it'll likely be popular, and not because in the last two decades the UK has become a backwards thinking, casually racist country, those elements have always been there, but because we've become a very polarised, binary country, maybe it's the whole world. As others have said, where America goes, we follow.
There is room for discussion over BLM and taking the knee and what that stands for, discussion is good, because without it, there is only division. We're being divided into two very strict camps, we're being encouraged to only think in the way we think 'our team' should think.
Who is the lady in beige, far left?
Excellent, looking forward to the chance to watch. If it mirrors fox, talk radio, Australia sky news (I don't know why the UK sky is such leftist tosh) then should be good.
If it annoys the usual snowflakey woke types more the better 🤣
It's going to be the Daily Mail in TV form isn't it, for those who want their daily dosage of hatred and fear without actually needing to read.

ah yes, the target demographic
I despise the use if the term "gammon". I totally understand the type of people and views it represents, but the fact that we are happy to throw around what has become an insult to discuss someone with a different opinion to ours strikes me as being petty. Fighting prejudice with prejudice is a bit shit, really.

Ah, yes, that well known socialist... *checks notes*.... Rupert Murdoch.

Marriage proposals are going to look a bit different in the future eh?
