What a goal.
Surely Spurs wont keep him.

A certain manager must be feeling pretty smug tonight.

Was there last night .... What a goal indeed.

Made all the better for the fact that before Bale got hold of it, we'd played it out of own 6 yard box after a west ham cross.

Call me romantic/deluded but I've got a little sneaky feeling Bale might stay... did you see how he run to AVB to celebrate. And he sign a new 5 year contract after AVB was announced back last summer.

EPO ??

Extraordinary Pinging Overdrive

What have Oscar Pistorious and Tottenham got in common ?

Both are in trouble without Bale

Nice to see he's putting in good performances for our feeder club.

Wouldn't be surprised if Fergie has a pop at signing him. Left sided goal scoring midfielder - a bit like one ageing player they already have and need to replace soon!

He still dives too much for me to like him. Cracking player though.

More than happy to take ManU's 50 mill... ta vmuch... we've done quite well out of you over the past few years.... Would have been even better if we had got Berba back (Clint D or Berba ... always thought Jol was good)

Indeed. I'd be amazed if said aging left winger, and Bales former national captain, hasn't been leading the charm offensive for quite some time already

Remind me what trophies Utd have donated to your cabinet. 🙂

Unfortunately I can't see this happening. He'll end up in Spain as Ronni's replacement once he leaves and Jose goes to PSG. Can only see Sh1tty as the other option provided they stump up obscene amounts of cash. We wanted him when he was leaving Saints but it didn't happen. Too late IMO.

I may be deluded over Bale staying but not silly enough to believe Spurs have been anywhere near ManU.

But I believe we bought Berbatov from the Carrick sale and Modric (overrated BTW) from the Berba sale … monies which have allowed us to compete and be the best of the also rans for a number of years now.

Here’s hoping we can kick on … and finally and at long, long last come above Arsenal (please take that’s a back handed compliment before any Arsenal fans get narky)

spacemonkey - I think you're right. Levy is a pretty shrewd operator in the transfer market. Ultimately, it'll take bigger cheques than the Glazers are prepared to write. I reckon he'll end up in Spain too. Doesn't mean Fergie isn't trying. Van Persie's arrival was a coup nobody saw. You never know

*crosses fingers*

Yeah, the RVP purchase was a bit of a curve ball. That wouldn't have happened if Levy was at the Ar5e. I reckon the only chance we have of signing Chimpy is if we offer one of our wingers + £25m or so. Still can't see it happening though,

Levy won't sell to an English club.. same as the Modric situation, Chelsea offered more than Real, but he didn't want to strengthen a rival, so sold him abroad.

Bale will give us another year or two before going to Real / Barce IMO.

Would prefer him to stay in England to be honest… would rather be able to watching him on tele week in/out rather than a highlights here or there from Spainish TV.

But why can’t he stay at Spurs and know that every time there’s a Freekick you’ll be handed the ball… be the fulcrum of a young, improving side ... be AVBs version of Wenger’s Thierry Henry…. Help start, be part of a new great side… maybe (AVB may still turnout to be very average)

Without getting the ManU fans collective goat… as a young player would you really go to Old Trafford now?

What Fergie has done over 20 odds years is outstanding.... but it’s going to end for him/you sooner or later… do you really believe it can carry on with a new manager?

Because that really will be amazing … not saying it can’t, just it’s pretty much unprecedented … there’s always a period of transition and mediocrity (but then again ManU mediocrity is another side’s standout season) ... It might just be a window of opportunity for an upcoming team ??

BURN HIM

Depends whpo the manager is Jose for example

I think times have changed as the manager matters for some percentage but not as much as money

Given hom much money/following man u have they will be able to buy th ebest players so always there or thereabouts.

How good a manager is Moyes ? We dont know he has never had the money so will never be able to compete with Fergie for example- would Everton be dominating EPL if Fergie was there- with their money NO

I agree their will be transition but there is a young team there so it should be ok [ read not as good as currentlym stil in champs league but not Liverpool]

Bale is world class it would be nice to see a player buck the trend and stay loyal to the team but I wont be optomistic about this happening- may do till he is a little older and wants some medlas for when he retires?

Ro5ey not in the same league and I am not a footy fan but Sansea have been very shrewd with managerial appointments. So continuity can be achieved

Jyard/Pface ... very true and Spurs are a prime example.

But they (fergie's) are THE biggest shoes to fill... ever.

The next man in, may not be able to win... even if, he actually kinda does.

It'll be interesting, that's for sure

aye its a hard one as it both a dream job , big team ,succesful and rich but vey big shoes to fill
I note moyes has not signed for everton yet but it is surely harder to fail [ supose the probelm is they expect trophies] at man u than say reading or swansea - no disprespect intended.
i think i would do better in the league managing man u than them.
