RRRAAAGGGHHHHHH - ****ing hate 'verified by visa' 'masticated by MAstercard' and that b*ll*x. It's all sh1te, offers no additional security, just tells me every time that I need a password, and no, that one won't do.

****in nationwide for using it too.

Grrr
That is all

I completely agree you are not allowed to use any password you have used before and are expected to remember it 3 months later WTF?

yep it's ballcocks. Can't use any of your previous 9000 passwords either, so you end up writing them down on a nice secure post-it and sticking it on your desk

Agreed its utter bobbins, got stuck with it the other night while trying to donate to a mates charity ride.

I was almost at the point of giving up, I don't understand how the hell it works as I tried it the next day with the new password and it refused me?
So I create a new password and it works!!!

Now if I only could use the Barclays Pin Sentry machine I have for my bank account then that would be great.

Why not buy one of those prepaid debit card like 3V Gift card from WH Smith? Oh ... it's only meant for online payment / purchase btw.

No security headache etc as it's not link to your bank account. You can link it to your bank account if you want but I would not advise that so just top up with voucher.

So you just have to keep topping it up that's all. Works exactly like debit card online and as long as the site accept VISA payment you can use it. They have Master & Paypal version too.

Phew - not just me who resents this total ballache that is VbV! The thing is, the ease with which you can reset the password (well, unless you try and use something you can remember that you've hence used previously) means that the actual *security* element is somewhat lightweight...
Good point about prepaid cards; if I were staying in the UK much longer I'd check them out! ๐Ÿ™‚

I saw the project summary for Verified By Visa, the sole purpose was to "Reassure customers that their security is taken seriously", but actually providing any increased security was only mentioned in passing.

Even worse. If you haven't registered it already, *anyone* can register your card with their email address (or at least they could). And the stupid CV2 on the back? anyone can cop a glance of that in a shop/restaurant, and use it with the full CC no that you've kindly handed them.

Agree with everything above. I don't even bother remembering the password as it is as easy just to reset it every time. Utter pointless waste of time.
