Just under three weeks in a new house and the gas bill is £113 😱

Time to replace the boiler I think.

Freezing October? Really? I was sat outside the White Hart inn in Ford, on the A420 to Bristol on Sunday, during a walk from Castle Combe and back, and there was a very large bumble bee buzzing around the flowers they have in planters outside, and there was a wasp flying around at work today.
Up in the Cairngorms it’s been clearly below freezing, but in the south and west, and probably most of England and Wales, pretty mild, really.
Going to get cooler by the end of next week.

Last night was "mild" by comparison to the last three nights. 😃
Bedroom temp reached 12C while the past three nights it was only 9C ... 😅

Standard I'm alright jack.

The op doesn't live in the south of england either so somewhat irrelevant.

Fwiw it's warmer Here in the true north but the windchill is up and due to the the heavy mizzle and low cloud it's even colder feeling during the day.

Pain in arse as I need to heat an uninsulated garage to 16deg to spray insulate it.

I think the wall in my bedroom is uninsulated or very thinly insulated ...

Yeah I'm not gonna bother trying to heat it. I'll do the insulation another day
