I posted a wanted ad on here for a 200mm x 57mm rear shock. Earlier I got this email:

Are you still interested in purchasing the specified item{s}? I have

What do you think, is it just me or is this iffy? I'm not planning to respond anyway, but it did puzzle me a little!
If it's legit, sorry!
Well his spelling and grammar is ok. But he didn't put a space in after the full stop. Definitely dodgy then.
Looks perfectly ok to me. If you are in any doubt, give me £1000 and I'll look over his references for you.
Looks as dodgy as a nine-pound note to me. He may have the parts but if so they'll be stolen, or he may just take your money and never be seen again.
why doesn't he post?
Strange residential address
I thought it was all offices there?
google images suggest it may be a boarded up address, but you didn't include the exact housenumber.
that's about 2 minutes from me
want me to do a stakeout?
is it just me and the OP that thinks
Are you still interested in purchasing the specified item{s}?
is rather odd use of language?
Scam, he'll have sent the same email to a hundred people - then he'll figure out what item you were looking for if you're one of the mugs who replied 🙂
No doubt his aunt in Nigeria is holding onto the shock and will post it straight to you once you've sent the money - western union styleee of course.
Yeah I did have to chuckle. Why do they bother?!
They wouldn't bother if people didn't fall for these scams, unfortunatly many people still do.
Also got the same email after posting a wanted listing for a seatpost yesterday.
its too generic, if it was specific and didnt go into so much detail about his address then you'd probably be more inclined to believe him/her.. ooops i've just advised someone on how to defraud me. 😕
Whats your phone #
Most UK people wouldn't use a hash in that context
Ask for photos.
