The puffer weather thread says latest reply one hour ago but the latest reply is two days old when you open the thread, unless it’s just because I’m still on ie11

I'm seeing the opposite too. Threads that I know have replies are showing none, and if you try to get to it it's a dead link.

Also, why are the tags showing below the reply box like I'm adding them?

EDIT: looks like I can remove the tags just by deleting them from the Tags box

What I find most disconcerting, is, in Chrome, when you hit submit, the load page button doesn't move, or change to a X

You just see the 'waiting for singlblah' in the status bar. I've never seen a site do that before before before

Topic I am engaged in on the Forums link is complete rubbish.

A heck of an upgrade this, not sure I've ever seen anything as bad 🙂

Testing the Flikr BBCode again. I also noticed that my previous post are now deleted from the thread, even though they were included in a reply.

That works then. It was just the code including the [img] and delete the rest of the line.

Next issue, but it may be already known, is that the preview button does not preview.
I also get the coffee cup and page not found for quite a few thread posts.

Slightly similar, in Edge browser the page tab title is just "Waiting for response from singletrackworld.com...", always.

Though Edge has been doing that a fair bit recently on a number of sites. I think if there's any background stuff going on it says that. Didn't used to. Though most sites it eventually gets there and shows the title.

Also... Subscriber is a bit meh. Diminishes the power of the 'P' 😀

WTF have you done to the forum ?

I'm seeing when people post quotes there is just a load of 'script' 🙁

When writing a post like this, where's the top bar for posting images, URL's, changing font etc. etc.

Was it even tested ?

Giving up trying to post in the classifieds. No idea what I'm doing wrong (if anything).

Honestly, it's like folks don't read the initial update from Mark then prattle on all day whining "i dunna work, no like green, huh why no posty pictures"

Why not just wait until it's all finished eh.

You don't expect people to actually read any other posts but their own, do you!?

That’s all well and good, but it’s the basic functionality of the forum that’s ****ed. The ability to create a post with a photo or two is very, very basic stuff.

I can see a very long and detailed tutorial on how to use the forum in the futures of the web team. But that will be a typical response of “well I can do it, it’s not hard!”

Firefox on android has some weird stuff going on.

A test server is surely a better way to do this?

It's ok to drop the new version on the production server when its only used by you and your mates but I think STW can surely afford a second server?

I don't mind doing consultancy in exchange for a tour of some nice mtb trails around STW towers.

I take it the greasemonkey personal blacklist script will no longer work.

I know it isn't part of the forum just an external add on, but it does save my sanity.

“<span style="color: #444444; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;">Why not just wait until it’s all finished eh.”</span>

Seems like a sensible thing to do before launching half finished software

Why not just wait until it’s all finished eh.

this is the new era of devops where the end users are the testers...

Of course we are testers, we're part of it don't forget.

But whining because a number of issues, well documented and reasoned for, seems pointless until the forum has been properly updated..

Just seems odd to me.

I don't think the issue have been well-documented - must have missed it.

it does seem a lot of breakages though - assuming a normal route of doing a test upgrade and then testing it all on a test server first, there must have been something really messed up when they did the actual upgrade.

I'm guessing no test upgrade and test cycle first, just try it and see.

Did you miss the bit where Mark asked us to report any issues? Or that some of them aren't "well documented" at all - and are in fact still being discovered?

I didn’t miss that no, obviously. Marks already offered up reasons for some issues, says they’re working on stuff and left this place open whilst they complete what is probably quite a complex set of procedures..

Just document the issues and leave the whining out until Marks says “right, here it is”

He’s already mentioned the Tech boys are dropping in to check on issues..

It's looking a lot nicer on an iPad than it was last night. Plus it's keeping me logged on! That makes the whole exercise worthwhile on its own for me 🙂

Yep. Forum activity feature was really good as could review postings. Also if you do a search it searches the whole site rather than say just the classifieds

The ability to easily post quotes, pics, etc, are a fundamental part of how the forum works!
None of those things seem to work, at least on iOS, so there’s an obvious reaction to that lack of functionality.
Some people seem to be able to post quotes and pics, I have no idea at all how they’re doing it, unless they’re actually creating the codes without the buttons usually at the top of the comments box.
At least the green has been made darker, but I feel it could be slightly darker still, the lighter font is still difficult to read even on my pad without my reading glasses, when I tried on my phone earlier I just could not read the green text, unless I turned it into landscape format and zoomed the page.

Plenty of IT folks on here who do releases differently to this, THM

Personally I'm just whining because there are other ways to test a half-finished product than on your end users (and no, nothing Mark has said explains why it had to happen like this)

The buttons are at the top for some users, but not all.  I'm not sure why.

Well, from my point of view, the formatting in iOS seems to be sorted - I can browse the forums on my phone again (just in time to go back to work tomorrow! 😉 )

Haven’t tried any further quotes etc but from the ‘my wheel fell apart today’ thread they’re clearly still an issue...
