Sounds like you got a bum deal with your username. Let's hope the mods have the moral fibre to change it once they log on. Of course, they might poo poo the request if they think it'll lead to data leakage.
There was a morning following an 'upgrade' where people could change their usernames - even to other existing usernames.
My what jinks were had.
Then they changed them all back and disabled the function.
But they didn't change the user profile description so anyone who was mucking about at the time now has a description (which they can't change) of the last name they chose that day but their original username.
Not a lot of people know that.
Shurely there is way to fix this through a back door?
We need a thorough probe into this shocking state of affairs, let's really put STW through the ringer (sic) on this one.

Anus. Thing is, if you do change user name and retain your posting history under that new moniker, your history will still be full of posts with replies addressing you as Anus.

I had a friend at school whose real name was Anus, he was Danish IIRC, where it is a proper name…
Yes I work in Denmark and there are two Anuses in my floor alone. Technically it's Anders but pronounced more anatomically. I daren't address them by name.
