Just finished Guy Martins book and apparently he was offered the presenter role and turned it down - felt it had already been done to death.
I struggled with Glenister as I found him a bit fake, Guy would have been awesome and would have done a 'rate good job'...

If there's any truth to that, it is the best. Fact. EVER.
I suspect that's true of many cars - the Allegro wasn't a particularly weird shape. Maybe it was the Vanden Plas version with its Rolls Royce grill.
If Guy Martin had hosted it you wouldn't have been able to keep him away from the spanners:D

On balance more of the cars and less fluff and it'd be a really great series.

I owned an Allegro, square wheel and all. Apart from having the aerodynamics of Anne Hathaway's cottage and the grip of a hot air balloon what I mainly remember is the service of the Hydrolastic sus that pumped it so high and so rigid that only chassis flex got it round the corners.
My mum had an Allegro Vanden Plas with the picnic tables in the back of the front seats - I quite liked it (though I never got to drive it as it dissolved before I was 17)
Ant Anstead came across really well, he's obviously extremely good at what he does and even if they got some specialist help in (suspect there was more expert assistance than perhaps was let on)
Seeing as he runs his own car company he should know a thing or 2 about building cars.

Resurrecting this thread cod I've seen two Deloreans on the roads this weekend. First was in heswall on Saturday afternoon, then again in chapeltown Sheffield tonight.
Seems the tv programme has got them out the woodwork...
I saw about 12 drive past in a convoy on Saturday down in Corfe. Thought I was seeing things.
I went past the factory at the weekend.

Just recently I've seen a Maserati and a McLaren with those doors. Bit silly but these seem to be nicer designs (even though I'm not interested in cars and there's so many posh ones park up in the market square other people don't seem too interested either.) Bit of a vulgar display of wealth really, I guess people like that impress other people like that.
