If you had the means, would you?
Chassis number one
Not really....
the first ever, production Short Wheelbase Diesel Landrover.
Plenty of petrols had already come out by then. I believe LR kept 001, 002 went to the Royal Family.
Chassis number two million sold at auction for £400k a few months ago...
Admittedly in a bit better condition however.
If you had the means, would you?
Not without FSH.
In all seriousness though. Why would you? It's a mess.
love that it's been "dry stored since 2002" because we all know that nothing corroded before that date.

I'm fairly sure they had the first ever one (made in 1948 with an 80" chassis) on display at the recent "celebrations" for the closing of the production line. If it had the original engine, then I can imagine it would have a certain historical value, but it doesn't so it's just another late S1 chassis. I'm out - and I doubt he will even get an offer with the same number of zeros.
£2k tops for that soot chucker. Interesting but nowt special.
When I saw 001 at the 65th it was a totally derelict having been left to rot by the sea.
Plus, there were many preproduction 80's and they aren't doing that sort of money.
(Oh anyone paying big money for a landie is in for a shock.)
If you had the means, would you?
Christ no! Not even sure I'd look at any Series, it would be a Defender 90, with a fair bit of work done; I think there would be too many compromises with even a late model Series.
Item condition:Used
No shit.
The engine in the back is not the original
There is evidence of another non original engine fitment at some time
Home made truck cab is obviously not original
No idea about the transmission but it looks original. Wheels do turn . Steering in working order .Electricals and interior various bits missing .
The vehicle is stored in a barn and will take a couple of days to dig out.
so 200k for a VIN plate?
WD40 and Hammerite and it will look as good as new 🙂
Maybe a few rolls of duct tape as well
It's not HUE 166. Afaik that's the oldest production LandRover known.
No chance. However if you're after a series 1 this looks like fun if you have some legal off road to play on (once fitted with bucket seats, a full roll cage etc.)

Still overpriced though that one Edukator!
So make an offer. Things are worth what someone is prepared to pay.
I'm downsizing the fleet - NOT adding to it!

Sounds like most Land Rovers, except for the steering bit 🙂
