We will be in touch
I was watching a re-run of some DREARY late-seventies Socialist Britain "Top of the Pops" middle-aged boring showbiz rubbish with the likes of Lulu, Yellow Dog, Brotherhood of Man (WTF was that all about?) in a mostly brown studio performing in front of an audience of bored, unimpressed teenagers when, all of a sudden:
If punk hadn't happened, it would have been necessary to invent it. Oh, wait... 😉
I followed it with 'Toiler On The Sea' and 'Walk On By'.
(but it's lunchtime now)
All of a sudden I was reminded, and felt like, what it was like to be young and excited suddenly by something new.
1977 and all that. 🙂
don't recall socialist bit , wilson/callaghan govt, but not in any way 'socialist'

I'm "fairly" sure this isn't a thread about politics ?
Back from lunch now....
Might have a listen to Meninblack while thinking about drifting home.
well if you introduce politics in the opening line of a thread, then it sure seems like it .......and yes higgo is right--everything is politics...
I still remember the excitement of watching the Lulu show when I was 15 to see Jimi Hendrix.
It started with a mass of feedback which transformed into Hey Joe. Famously he hijacked the show with "we don't want to play any more of this rubbish" and they launched into a tribute to Cream.
Great band live....sighs....those were the days.
wanders off down memory lane........
