[Closed] Fitting hose to vintage tap

So, outside I have a tap very similar to this...

vintage tap

Unlike this picture, The tap in question is actually part of the pipework (which runs underground), and simply changing the tap is not an option.

I think taps like this were probably once the norm, and there must be a few about still, so can anyone recommend a hose connector that will fit? Otherwise I can see this being very much trial and error...

A round hozelock connector, the kind with a jubilee clip round it.ย  Think they might come in different diameters so measure the tap.

You can get a nice brass kit to match the tap, better than plastic...

Why not?

Freeze the pipe, saw it off, fit something useful.

While I can see that as an option, spending seven quid on a nice brass kit to do the job seems like the easy solution.

It's not a normal pipe. There's no join between tap and pipe, however the pipe itself is about an inch thick, it's not round, and it's flexible... I don't even know what it's made out of.

It would be easier to join something to the tap than the pipe itself.

It'll be lead pipe I'd imagine.
