Very embarrasingly, Nik Kershaw at the Glasgow Apollo, early 80s, I was 14 or so. *blushes* Not my choice, my best friend wanted to go and her mum got me a ticket too.
ahem. Nik Kershaw when I was about 12.
First "proper" gig was The Mission.
Going to show my age here ๐
Some heavey metal band called Velvet Runs Red or something like that.
In a local hall.
They played the complete set lying in slightly raised coffins, lots of fake blood, chicken feathers and false body parts thrown into the crowd, no musical tallent whatsoever, but quite a show!
At the age of 12, I loved it!

Do you also not quite remember who you lost your virginity to?!
Apart from a couple of local ska bands, my first proper concert was
Levellers in 1994
Still one of my favourite live bands and have probably seen them about once a year since
Saxon at the City Hall, Newcastle early 80's. My daughters first gig was Korn last year at the Academy in Newcastle
Newcastle Riverside - that takes me back. Saw plenty there between 87 and 90, usually followed by a mad dash from there back to the station to get the 2315 train back to Durham.
Had my half mile drunken sprint times down to a fine art in those days.
Run DMC / Beastie Boys / Davy D
B'ham Odeon '86 (I think)
The Meteors somewhere in London a long time ago, I remember being quite scared for most of it.
saw the cure in london somewhere in 1989, they were bloody good live.
The Streets in 2001 at the Barrowlands in Glasgow. At the ripe old age of 21! Seen them twice since then and the whole production of the gig hasn't been any where near as good.
Simple Minds - Caird Hall, Dundee - 1982
Sisters of Mercy, New Model Army & Skeletal Family at Huddersfield Town Hall, Oct 1984.
Queen, Heart, Joan Jett and Teardrop Explodes at Elland Road, Leeds. 1982. I was 11.

Or Diamond Head?

Crass @ Hebden Bridge 11 May 1982 I was 15, can't recall the venue, some social club or something. Supported by Annie Anxiety and D.I.R.T.
The La's, Hummingbird, Birmingham. About '91 I guess. Good job the question isn't 2nd band you saw, cos I'd have to tell you all it was Def Leppard.
Midnight Oil, Birmingham NEC, probably very late 80's or 1990.
Def Leppard, Malvern Winter Gardens, 1979.
Tricky at the Vic rooms in bristol,
I think was my first ever gig,
either that or Portishead at Colston Hall (bristol).
would have been around 1999 and I was 17/18
relatively recent compared to all the other old timers
queen, knebworth 1986
last conceert they ever played
Very envious - I'd give almost anything to have seen them live.
saw them in '85 too. Still the best gigs i've been to. I'd give my left arm to see Pink Floyd play though.
