My son want to buys coins for FIFA13, smells iffy to me, any experiences wise ones?

I have read many are a scam they will ask for account details and wipe the account of its players, that's how they make coins to sell. Buy Fifa points, get gold packs and sell the players for coins. I got lucky and had Rooney in a pack, sold him for 100k coins.
Alternative is to buy an EA Season ticket, you get 24 packs. One every Monday for 24 weeks.
