Evening All.
Moved into a new place and Virgin have just told me 'no can do.'
So where do we go for decent phoneline broadband, prepared to pay a bit extra for decent service, speed and properly unlimited downloads. As the wife's Skype/Iplayer habit does gobble it up.
Any recommendations or 'avoid at all costs' warnings?
Happy with EE here on standard at £2.50 per month tbh.
Could go unlimited but even with a smart TV and working from home haven't got near the cap
Zen Internet would be my recommendation, I've got the consistently best speeds in our village.
I'd also recommend getting a router where you can mess around with the SNR - doing so on my Billion 7800n moved us from 3.5 to 6 with no downside.
I don't live in a cable area but have Plusnet's unlimited fibre-to-cabinet service.
They call it fibre but it's basically posh DSL from the cabinet to the house via the phone line.
I get 40Mb/s download speed, 12 ish upload , unlimited and including line rental for £31 a month.
Have a look on their site and see if it's available in your area ..
Thanks chaps, I'll have a stab at Plusnet cabinet service as it gives me the best chance of higher speeds, we're only 20 metres (10 metres too far away for connection)from the fiber network so should be able to get it.
If not then Zen do look the best for copper-only.
Thanks all.
