should we all be worried? http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the-switch/wp/2014/05/15/fcc-approves-plan-to-allow-for-paid-priority-on-internet/
don't we pay enough as it is for internet access?
am saddened to think that it will happen though knowing the sway huge companies have with governments ๐
What's really interesting to me is that there must already be mechanisms built into all the infrastructure that allows for prioritisation of traffic.
So who's traffic currently gets priority if it's not people paying for it?
The conspiracy theorists will assume that traffic from 'them' has a virtual blue light on the front and gets through all the routers etc faster than everyone elses.
But, more generally, the loss of net neutrality on top of the EU 'forget me' ruling is going to have profound effect on the future of the internet.
