Chris Liberator or Dave Clarke...
Anyone go to Atomic Jam at the Que??
Dave Clarke all the way
Used to go religiously to the Jam - even though I live in Leeds! happy but hazy days!
๐
BUT ... The Jam wasnt a patch on THE ORBIT in Morley Leeds !!!
... how's about the (ex-)Orbit in Morley?
Usually Megadogs and Templeheads for me though (back in the day) ๐
Simultaneous post!!!
Plastikman - Marbles
Midgebait - I never nmissed ANY of the Megadog's OR Templeheads - we will have known each other!!
Miss the Megadog big time
Liberator for me, though Clarke was a great alternative when I fancied a bit of plod ๐
I couldn't guarantee that I would have even recognised the people that I went with ๐
Storm troopers and giant horses! Happy days ๐
Dreams by QUENCH 2.25mins onward.
Dyewitness and DJ Trevor Reilly The Night Raver.
Bring back Hanger 13!!
Not forgetting Sven Vath, with Adam Beyer flying the flag for the pots and pans. Billy Nasty was always pretty good too.
Nights would be House of God, Third Eye and Atomic Jam up Birmingham, The Orbit, Nuclear Free Zone, Zero Gravity & Institute of Goa elsewhere ๐ฏ
funnily enough i went to the atomic jam 14th b'day the other week ( robert hood on form and chris liebing was fairly dull and ploddy )and my first atomic jam was atomic jam vs megadog with carl cox, andy weatherall playing - fun times ๐
zebedee, dark marc, geezer, laurie immersion, liberators- all three,
Never in clubs ๐
oooof nice post..
Richie Hawtin or aka Plastikman for me.. tb303 modded, nice acid indeed.
Orbit Morley spent alot of time there in the day, world class dj's on,remember seeing Aphex there about 93 i think, laid down again he was lol..
Sven Vath was the hero at Morley i'd say, awesome guy, still is.
Never in clubs

Laurent Garnier and Andy Weatherall for me.
+1 for Andy Weatherall
plus choon = the ones that went bit-bop-bit really fast whilst the strobelight was on ๐
๐ ๐
90% of the mentioned dj's are barely past house

His stuff as FUSE and Plastikman is superb but I'm not at all keen on the mnml direction he's taken in the past few years
True there Disco stu, im with you on his old stuff, fuse and and plastiman 1st two albums,
Oh, saw Juan Atkins and Octave One at Fabric in September - awesome night.
Do most of you c*nts even know what acid techno is?
Clearly not judging by some of the folk you're listing. ๐

Indeed - I presume he meant the acid house influence stuff not being a massive techno head myself.

Used to go to Havoc in Manchester, packed full sweat drippin off the roof. Ace.
Went to Orbit once, we got told to put our tops back on. Toss. Never went again.

Best Tune Ever:
[url=
- Bon Voyage (Adam Beyer Remix)
DJ's:
Dave Clarke
Adam Beyer
Chris Liebing
Sven Vath
Richie Hawtin (back in the 98-02 era, none of his new minimal shit!)
VERY surprised nobody has mentioned Monika Kruse yet! Some of her early stuff (around 2000/1) was mucking fental! Not in a mad mega BPM way, just so twisted and warped with basslines that would tear most clubbers a new ringpiece! Saw her DJ at Fuse in Brussels (MADDEST Techno club in the world, or at least it was back in the day) in 2002, bloody mental set! ALMOST too much for me even!
Best night I ever had was at Cocoon Club @ Amnesia in Ibiza, 16th July 2001, 2 days before my 21st Birthday... Man that was incredible! 3 Hours of Richie Hawtin on numerous decks, a first gen version of Final Scratch, and LOADS of effects... He took the entire club places it had never been before! It was unreal... Then Sven Vath came on after and just tore the place down with 3 hours of pounding bassline driven techno! Happy Days! ๐
slightly ot: anyone off here off to bloc 2010?
link if you don't know what it is
HoG at the factory (Que never had the same atmosphere) - went back there for a multi rig night recently, first time ive been back in over 15 years.
laurent garnier? andy weatherall? early stuff from 2001?
this thread promised so much and delivered so little.
hog is still going its their 17th b'day down at the rainbow warehouse at the start of feb and the atmosphere there is still crackin ๐
Colin Favor, The Music Maker, Lennie D - they all rocked back in the early nineties. Anyone here used to go to Sterns in Worthing? The underground with the Green Lazer....good times
Used to go to Megadog aswell when at uni in Newcastle - MC Teabag was the main man I seem to remember!
[i]Richie Hawtin (back in the 98-02 era, none of his new minimal shit!)

you make that sound like nothing happened before 98 - "minimal shit" is hardly new!
plastikman stuff started earlier than 98,sheet one i think was 92-93.musik was 94.
early aphex had some serious acid in it,hard as!
