We're thinking Knowsley Safari park? We've already done Chester zoo and enjoyed it but with a fairly pregnant wife I don't think a full days walking will go down well.
Is Blue Planet worth a look?
Any other good aquariums? Animals go down well.
Always enjoyed Blue Planet when my littleun was, er, little. Also look at the Ice Cream farm near Tattenhall. For future ref, (he's a bit young yet) the Crocky Trail is awesome.
Book a chariot for your wife. You don't have to be disabled.
I know Chester is a Roman city, but that's a bit of excessive!
We have been to The Ice Cream Farm too (as mentioned above) a few times when visiting friends in Chester and it has always been a hit - plenty of things to do (play/animals/ice cream obvs.) and they also have a singing tree that squirts out bubbles every so often and that is always a hit.
