Watching BBC news channel and I'm intrigued. How integral to comprehension are the facial expressions of the signer?

very and so is body language, it's about emphasis and giving it some expression as well as making it flow

From what I can tell some things are quicker to just mime. Which is true for hearing people too of course. It's just not necessarily preceded with 'I was like...'
