Up to now I've avoided everything facebook related in my life, but the search for a kids bike locally has introduced me to the joys of marketplace which seems to have 10x the amount of other platforms. I set my search radius to 10k and scrolled through loads of results. However, now that I've setup a Facebook account and logged in to message someone I can only see a very small set of results - about 2 pages worth (browsing on my laptop). I logged out and could see them all again - what am I doing wrong???
Just send “Is this still available, hun” to all of em, see what comes back

What is it about Facebook specifically that the spelling and grammar etc are so bad? Is it because most people who use it do so via an app on their phones, or just because the majority of users are illiterate morons? I too have recently found the joys of the marketplace, as well as joining groups for hobbies etc. They're really useful but it's so hard to read some of the posts.

My guess is that your location wasn't set until you logged in so despite you setting a radius it didn't know where to start so just showed you the whole country.
That said FB is a law unto itself and it will only show you what FB says you can/should see. FB knows what you want to see and if FB thinks it's OK then FB will let you see it/or not depending what FB is feeling like that day.
Be warned though your FB profile needs locking down tight if you are going to start messaging people as they will have the option to view your full profile once you start the chat...
