Ive bought a new outdoor floodlight which i want to extend the cable on as at the minute its very short at 2m long.
The cable currently on the light is 3 core 1.0MM2. I want to extend the cable by 10 meters and have a roll of 1.5mm2 here. Am i ok to extend the cable using a weatherproof junction box and some 1.5mm or do i extend like for like?

That’ll be fine. Wago do a good waterproof junction box and fittings.
Bare in mind grey t+e shouldn't be outside unprotected .
But as far as cables. Be fine will we 1.5 to the switch anyway.

Get a wiska box and a stuffing gland for each cable that's entering/exiting the box, then use a wago connector inside the box, job done
