A short story by way of an answer.

Very late one evening I became really pissed of with my beard and decided it had to go. Not all of it, mind, just the area where one would usually grow a goatee - claustrophobic is the best way to describe how it made me feel. Anyway, off it went without really looking in the mirror - just a few quick passes and that was that, feeling gone and I was able to sleep.

Having not shaved that particular area for some years I was a little perturbed as to the outcome but dismissed it with images of looking like this guy...

Yeah, discussions about domestic appliances, kitchen equipment, admissions of mechanical and emotional inadequacy not to mention the "copy'n'paste" heroics are signs of a really cool bunch.

I made a list once, some while ago now when I was trying to figure who everyone was and my memory is crap and this place was very busy with lots of different posters..
