I don't have TV and don't have a TV license. Don't watch anything live generally - but have a hankering to watch the Vuelta's stage on Eurosport today!
It is legal to buy a Eurosport subscription and watch live streaming through them if you don't have a TV license?
No - sorry
Summary
Watch live TV from anywhere - need a licence
Use BBC iPlayer for TV - need a licence
Watch non live TV, DVDs,netflix etc - no licence
Stream TV from anything that isn't iPlayer - no licence
Licence is a noun, license is a verb 🙂
Stream TV from anything that isn't iPlayer - no licence
Isn't this what the OP is suggesting ?
Wouldn't let it stop me though. What is live TV and when do I need a licence for it?Live TV means any programme you watch or record as it’s being shown on TV or live on any online TV service. It’s not just live events like sport, news and music. It covers all programmes on any channel, including soaps, series, documentaries and even movies.
If you’re watching live TV, you need to be covered by a TV Licence:
if you’re watching on TV or on an online TV service
Open live stream. Pause it for ten seconds. Restart it. Are you still watching a broadcast live?
Probably.
But as long as you do it with the curtains shut, doors locked and the toilet seat down, then the inspectors will never be able to sneak up on you. Live dangerously!
You might not be able to watch in English......I watch it in Danish, picture quality is brilliant on that stream 🙂

Spent the last 15 minutes discussing the water running down the road and repeating "I hope no one crashes once they get over the top".

Surprised to find I'm getting English commentary at http://www.sdwnet.me/channels/Eurosport-France.html which was the first link I tried (wasn't bothered about the commentary, though figured my French was good enough to get something useful).
[s]...and ignoring the legality of the stream, from a UK licensing perspective I'm fairly sure it's legal to watch that without a TV licence because it's not broadcast over the air and it's not iPlayer.[/s]
edit: I was wrong, it appears any live TV including streaming needs a licence, even if you have a delay.

If you watching it live you need a license.
Doesn't matter where you are watching it from.
Buy a licence you tight bastards.

Nope. Stream TV from anything that isn't iPlayer, - licence
If you're watching or recording broadcast TV you need a licence irrespective of how you're watching it (including +1 type channels). If you're not, you don't.
Interesting point though; is it telly if it's a live stream that not also 'broadcasted' by a telly company? What about a YouTube live stream of a sporting event? What about a vlog live streamed? What about a Skype conference? What about a live webcam? What about a FaceTime call?
Where is the line drawn?
