What are labour playing at now?

Labour isnt. Some Labour MPs are.
All those who have a long record of being pro brexit.

Cougar – see above. It’s not Labour policy it’s a splinter group of Labour leavers

I know, I was agreeing. Sorry.

Other opposition leaders also sticking to the same line. Johnson has underestimated his opposition, they’re sticking to a combined and agreed strategy.

They have to because they want to stop Brexit by picking it apart bits by bits.

I see that coming long time ago. 😄

On that Clarkson tweet. I'm sure it's been suggested on here before, but I reckon a photo op round Junker's office on the 31st. "Sorry you're leaving" shiny foil sign tacked up over the copier. Slice the "Brexit day" cake, maybe a glass of bubbles, handshakes and smiles all round and front page splash on the evening edition.

Escort the press out the room, tear up the Article 50 letter and we never talk of it again.

That many?
That was something that I remember from the indicative votes. After massive arguments some poor sod would be left there discussing some issue which really should have more people paying attention.
Do wonder what the point of speaking to the empty chamber really is?

Corbyn calling for Johnson to call a referendum, and pushing for the legislation to stop No Deal before any election. Spot on!

Hell of a time to find a spine JC but by heck I'm glad to see it.

Interesting that now the braying mob have all retired to the pub, it's panning out how you'd think UK parliament would work if you'd never actually seen it. This is our flagship democracy in action how the rest of the word thinks it happens.

So Johnson now has to sack 20 MPs including the great grandson of his hero Churchill

The brexiteers really are clueless, moth was utterly useless as leader of common for Tories tonight

At some point leavers will have to stop listening to them scapegoating remainers, the bbc, the eu , etc

And start asking them some tough questions about why the brexiteers had no plan to deliver the brexit they promised....I

Judging by chewys comments though, they'll just keep shooting themselves in the foot until they run out of bullets, asking tough questions is too hard

Boris does seem to be lining it up to be the EUs fault rather than it being due to having no plan. It's almost like his objective isn't actually to leave but to stick failure to leave on the EU

This is our flagship democracy in action how the rest of the word thinks it happens.

Just the way it should be in the West. Other parts of the world have their own systems.

The brexiteers really are clueless, moth was utterly useless as leader of common for Tories tonight

Let's see how long will the people lend power to the Parliament. 😀

Without the people's support Parliament has no power.

Andrea Loathsome is saying the same, that tomorrow is 'the big vote' and making it sound like they aren't going to expel anyone on the basis of tonight.

I can't see why the rebels vote to allow the House to take control of agenda if they they weren't prepared to then back that agenda, but I'm not surprised by anything nowadays.

Put another way.....so they said they'd do something, then when it comes to it and the information crystallizes they are prepared to rethink and do something else. How undemocratic!

Kate Hoey representing the 77% of her constituents who voted remain by voting No there. Bet she’ll be popular next election.

Beeb reporter is now reporting she is backtracking on that and they are getting the boot tonight.
Although how that will work if the local constituency parties disagree, as Hammond's does, could be interesting to see.

The nays appear to be the Tories, the DUP, John Mann (who?) and Kate Hoey (quelle surprise). No votes for speakers and Sinn Fein.

Before a vote, that might be a compelling threat. After the vote it's cutting off your nose to spite your face.

Ah. Irony.

Ah. Irony.

Better do that before the vote. Get rid of the lot of them then call a GE or be consigned to history which they are on the brink now ...

If he does that PM BoJo will be seen as someone with strength as it is time to rebuild their party or someone will rebuild it for them.

Borrow from Led by Donkeys. Any embarrassing quotes from her in the past about being anti proroguing and so on. If not just quote johnson and co.
Or if you are talented and have time a nice pic of Rees-Mogg showing contempt for proceedings.

My MP is much the same but since it is Shapps nee Fox nee Green no chance of the arsehole taking notice.

Every interviewer I’ve watched on TV has tried so hard to goad opposition MPs on the issue of not immediately backing an election without first stopping the Halloween No Deal. None have bitten. All have stuck to the plan, even when mocked and sneered at. Impressive.

I would prefer a nice pic of the Parliament in contempt of the people. 🤣

Every interviewer I’ve watched on TV ...

The media is always trying their best to ask the opposite type of questions to boost their rating. Rather normal really.

Roger that.
As much as mitigating/stopping the disaster that is Brexit, it's just as important to me that Boris is utterly humiliated in the process.

Removing the whip effectively means expelling the MPs from the parliamentary party.

Loyal tories now number 289, down from 317 at the last GE. May and Johnson playing a blinder!

Add in the 10 DUP S&C votes and they now have 299, 27 short of a majority and still well short even when Sinn Fein and speaker's votes are included.

Red unicorns ahoy. Labour policy - according to the Corbynite yes-man non-entity on BBC news - is on winning a general election (keep dreaming, son), to carry on and renegotiate a better Brexit

The cognitive dissonance is absolutely staggering.

It occurs to me tonight looking at Mogg lying on that bench as if the whole system of this country is set up for him just for his amusement and profit... that he and his like are what we need to "leave".

The killfile will improve your forum experience by up to 79%.

In other news, Dominic Cummings was seen allegedly pissed as a newt and belligerent around Portcullis House, then there's the overheard phone call from an unnamed Brexity Tory along the lines of "Europe has f*****d our party".

This is only the beginning, the ERG have painted themselves into a corner while the Conservative Party implodes. Looming through the fog of unrestrained offshore donations we have the Brexit Party, run like a business with no internal democratic system of holding candidates to account ready to take the place of what's left of the Conservative Party. It's going to get nastier before the week is out.
