[Closed] er....kids homework time - ethics :-/
mates just rang me asking for help on his kids homework saying he doesnt understand it. and after him reading it out to me, ive got to say i dont either :-/
here goes..... ethics - give 3 examples of fact or belief.
mean anything to anyone?
1) It is wrong to do kids homework for them
2) It is OK to help them do their homework
3) It doesn't matter if they don't do their homeowrk, no one will die as a result
All are either facts or beliefs or both
Surely you just have to give three ethical facts, eg. A child dies every three minutes due to malaria (or something like that) and three examples of ethics opinions eg. I think this is terrible and would be easy to stop?
Maybe I've just missed the point though... I'm sure it doesn't matter that much, not worth getting worked up over...
the cheque is in the post
of course i love you
no dear, your arse does not look big in that
a/ It's a fact that asking stupid question leads to people dying.
b/ I believe that asking stupid questions leads to people dying.
c/ I believe its a fact that asking stupid questions is unethical.
There you go.
well, a healhy dose of sarcasm thanks gents, but i sort of see what they were asking now.
cheers
But I think the real answer is that it is a stupid question.
A fact can be a belief, a belief can be a fact.
1. There is a car parked outside my house. Fact.
2. God created the world in 7 days. Belief.
3. The sun will come up tomorrow. Fact and Belief, although we can't verify the former until tomorrow.
don't ask any more stupid questions, you already know the answers - Justin Sullivan
Belief: the question follows on from discussions in the lesson.
Fact: if he pays attention in class he'll be able to do his homework better.
Fact: asking questions on STW will solicit a number of witty answers and a number of helpful ones; this is probably neither.
How long has "ethics" been a school subject?
3. The sun will come up tomorrow. Fact and Belief, although we can't verify the former until tomorrow.
It's neither. It just appears to 'rise'. HTH.
