I am not sure he is particularly liked by the Maga crowd but was instead a compromise VP along the lines of Pence. It does give the fun dynamic though of the maga crowd with their blind loyalty to Trump (its not a bombshell trump was in the Epstein files for example although the details are obviously vague) vs the funding the paypal mafia can throw against them.
Hopefully we will see Trump fight back asking about Musk and Sean Combs.

I think everyone knew they'd fall out and tear each other to bits eventually, but even I'm surprised by the sheer speed of it, I thought they'd drift apart over months and there'd be little falling outs that escalated.

Yeah, it will be interesting to see how Trump reacts to that, as you say he could sue Musk for a massive amount if false but any legal action is going to involve discovery, including of the Epstein files. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if Trump is named in them (and it's long been speculated he is) but I then wonder why the Democrats didn't expose it before the election...

Anyone who was anyone will have known Epstein in that period and gone to his parties, so is likely to be named in the files. The question is in what context are they named? Clinton and Trump appear to have loose enough morals to fall into the Prince Andrew category of suspicion.
Those who were of a similar age or subsequently supported Clinton or Trump could also be under suspicion for knowing, enabling or covering up. If the Dems are clever, now is the time to start identifying and promoting younger rising stars with a cleaner back story.

And what was Cummings' basic method? Three word slogans, not facts, not nuance, not debate. He treated the UK electorate with utter contempt twice, and he won huge, twice.

One quote from an interview in 2002 stands out.
