My truck is in for its mot so got a Nissan Leaf to borrow.
It seems okay, pretty much like any other mid range hatchback I guess. Drives okay but I haven't really tested it. So far, so normal.
i drove from the garage to my house which is about 3 miles including 1/2mile of motorway. I did floor it on the motorway to see the acceleration but stopped before 70mph.
I got in the evening to drive o the supermarket I then looked at the battery charge and it was 90%. So the three miles this morning used 10% of the charge? Surely that was wrong but I am certain it was 100% when I picked it up. I drove down the hill about 1mile to sainsbury and then back and the battery was 88%
Does anyone own one of these and do they really have such a tiny range between charges?
Battery percentage on phones is a bit of a lottery, not really a scientific calculation. I'd imagine "flooring it" will get through the charge pretty quickly.
yes flooring it will use up lots of power
A friend has one it will do its stated range
Range varies according to the outside temperature as well. If it is very cold, it won't go as far. A friend has an E-Up! And in the winter the charge and range are significantly reduced
WCA in a Nissan Leaf!! ๐ sorry, can't help but chuckle! (I've been driven by him ๐ )
If I were you I'd turn off the AirCon, Lights, Radio, SatNav shuv a few crates of milk in the back and go do a round or two to make a few extra quid.
HTH's.
That's the special edition small VW only available in Yorkshire right?E-Up!
I had one for a week. Nice drive but "range anxiety" kicks in pretty quickly!
Don't worry DezB, it goes back in the morning and I don't see one in my future.
I do my bit for the environment by not buying new cars and maintaining older ones to ensure they don't go to landfill too soon. If that means I have to have supercharged v8s then I guess I will have to learn to live that
My wife's got one and has had it for over a year. For short trips it's perfect and cheap to run. The range is max 90 miles and very sensitive to wind and temperature and driving style. The new Leaf is meant to have a longer range though. We have a petrol estate car for longer journeys but the Leaf gets the most use. Also much fun with the Eco button off!
