I'm [well Dad is] building an extension [upvc on a concrete pad]

Is it wise to put the electric cable in a conduit in the concrete or just bung it in there ?

I would err to a conduit of some kind.

Thoughts 🙂

Conduit. What happens if there is a problem in the future and you need to get to it also it could be damaged by the concrete when poured and then you'll be breaking it up again to replace it.

32 mm waste pipe, put some coloured tape bands on it so if you ever need to dig down intot he base tyoull hopefully see the coloured tape first before it goes bang. You can also thread more canbles through it as needed latter.

How does SWA compare to a £2 length of push fit?

costs a forture, then you also have to terminate it properly

As project says try get some id tape to lay over it. Not a nice experience suddenly coming across an underground cable.
