Anyone had any experience of riding in the Elan Valley?

Such as outstanding scenery? Are you trying to keep it to yourself?

Wouldn't dream of it ... go and enjoy. It's difficult to go wrong in the area, just get a map and explore.

And Rhayader is crap also, there aren't loads of pubs within an easy walk - plus no bike shop there.

Fair enough, only so far rode Afan and Cwmcarn in Wales, loved them both!

Never stops raining either. Go somewhere drier, like Manchester.
