My home audio life consists of old (bit good for me) hi for. C90s, vinyl and cds. Phone is bit crap, but I've got a recent Chrome book. I have used Spotify in the car via bluetooth bit found it a bit of a faff. I've just bought a cracking little Bluetooth speaker and hope to get home and start compiling playlists. Any tips for a technophobe?
Grateful for non piss taking advice 😃

Your current gramophone winding handle won't mesh with your new gear.

You'll need a Google one for your phone

And a bluetooth enabled one for your speaker. It's annoying they don't come as standard.

I may as well post this now as we'll end up here anyway!... 🙂

...but seriously! Connect the Chromebook to the speaker via bluetooth. Open Spotify on the Chromebook and just start playing stuff. Create your own playlists as you get the hang of it, but there are loads of playlists on Spotify already.

You can set the quality for streaming in Spotify to be betterer for WiFi etc.

OP - does your Chromebook and Speaker both have 3.5mm headphone jacks?

I imagine the 'faff' you are having is coming from connecting/disconnecting devices - I'm fairly tech-savvy and bluetooth does my head in at times. A cable between them may simplify things for you.

Brilliant! Just home now and charging😃. Love the clips. Yep, two 3.5mm jacks so that should tidy things up. Can also use me ol' Ipod mini with it!
Much excitement here now 👍
And to think it was only 50 quid😁

You can of course run a 3.5mm to phono cable into a spare input on your current amp. That’s what I do - Cable is always plugged into the amp and I just connect the laptop/iPad when I want a better sound than from a small speaker.

Loads on eBay…

I got this a while back, seems really good for £4.

Thanks lads, top class piss taking and advice. Ordered bits as recommended 👍.
Think I've sussed it all. It all seems a great way to listen to new stuff before buying the vinyl and then taping it to play in the car 😂😂😂😂.
Where have I been for half of my life?
