I've had a case opened against me on ebay for a parcel not received.
Buyer says he hasn't received, but complication is that the delivery address supplied was to his name, c/- a post office.
It was posted second class, no signature, but the tracking number shows it's been delivered (28 May, so a week ago)- if it can't be found are ebay likely to find in my favour or his?
His.
Why's that?
You've got no proof he's got it
RM have delivered it to the address he gave me, and validated that on their tracker- isn't that the requirement? Otherwise any purchase not signed for would be vulnerable to this

Now you're getting it - sadly
Second class has insurance up to £20 (I think). If Ebay do find in his favor you can claim money back from royal mail. I have done it a couple of times, it takes a few weeks but at least you are not out of pocket.
Was that his actual shipping address on the eBay order, or did he send you a message saying "can you post it to this address please mate?".
If the former, and you have proof it was delivered there then you're in a much stronger position. Take screenshots of that tracking now.
It sounds a bit like click & collect, but I've only sent those to Argos shops. Always a bit twitchy when it's something expensive!
If its been delivered to a post office, can you ring the post office and see if it's been collected? Do they require a signature to collect?
Where is the post office? If it's somewhere outside of a major town / city there will be a decent chance that they remember receiving or passing on the package, particularly if it was as a favour to someone they know. If it was a click & collect type situation there will be a record of whether or not it arrived and was picked up.

It's his shipping address, not click and collect ie
J Smith
c/- A Post Office
Anywhere St
Anytown etc.
Says he's known there. He's going to get them to have a decent hunt round, will have to see how it goes I guess.
Basically, never send anything that isn't signed for. Otherwise you are open to abuse.
Even with a signed for service there are ways and means to play the system, as I found out recently with one particularly odious turd I sold something to, who tried to claim non delivery of the item - whom I then found on Instagram showing said item off!!!
Sadly just because the Royal Mail site shows delivered and even if a signature is shown it does not mean the person you sent it actually got it.
I’ve had eBay parcels returned to me as undeliverable or uncollected when the site had already shown the as delivered and signed for. All I hope is that prof is enough for me to get my money back from eBay
