I just bought a large value item on ebay for just under a grand. The seller wants to deliver the item to my house and wants cash on delivery, in the auction paypal or a cheque were offered as payments.

Where do I stand on this? I don't like the idea of someone knowing I have a large amount of cash on me at one-time, be it in my house or in the street.

It sounds like a win win for you. You don't need to travel and you get to see the goods before you pay.

He's offered to deliver to you. So you can check it is exactly as described before handing over the readies. What's your problem?

You think someone who's details are filed with ebay is going to whack you for a K ?

Don't allow that.
Why don't they want you to know where they Live?
They also know where a nice bike is.
If you have any problems how do you know who or where to go to.
Get the details and make sure its not stolen.

Paypal is covered as well
