Was thinking that if people took a pic of their item for sale with a current local paper clearly visible one could at least ensure they had the item in their possession and not just pictures that they have either found online or of something they used to have. Also, with it being a local paper you would narrow down the area they live in to prevent people claiming to be in Northwich but actually being in Poland, without giving details which would allow rapists to make a surprise visit.
Wouldn't be that much extra hassle for genuine sellers. What do you reckon?
Pay by cheque only - then you have their address. Simple?
Have lots of people been ripped off recently?
I have bought plenty of things in the past and never been ripped off or even unhappy with the purchase, from s/h rear mechs to full sus frames.
I've heard quite a few stories of people getting done over, just before christmas for instance there was a guy who took quite a few people for a ride. I got done on a different forum a while back. Unfortunately might see an increase given the old credit crunch.
why would i dissuade the rapists from visiting?
