Do they start to degrade after a couple of years?

My Alpkit 600 bag just doesn't seem warm any more.
Or am I just getting softer. 😕

They need a wash every now and then, sweat and dirt clumps the feathers together and reduces the loft and the airspace. You can do it yourself if you're careful, or there are a few co's about teh place who specialse in washing down.

Or you could be getting softer.

Or you could have lost a load of feathers.

It does seem to leave a couple of feathers in the tent every now and again.
I wouldn't have though it had lost enough to make a big difference though?

chuck it in the dryer with some old tennis balls on a low heat for 30-40mins
the balls will bash the clumps and that and the low-heat will help it re-loft

How are you storing it?

I'll try the tumble dryer trick.

It's stored in it's loft bag.

Franklins in Sheffield are the guys to use if you want it washing properly. You can do it yourself but it takes an age.
One thing is to use a liner to stop body oils/sweat etc getting thru the inner on to the down
