Could anyone give me a very rough estimate of replacing 9 old wooden framed windows with double glazing? Windows are about 3 by 2 foot each.
Also, in the Peebles/Innerleithen area, how much give is there on a fixed price/offers over when buying a house?
Obviously I will not be quoting you when getting to the serious haggling stage, just after a rough idea....
Im not an expert or anything but the borders has seen some of the highest property price rises in scotland which would suggest not much room to bargain. As Ive said Im not an expert and I dare say someone else will correct me.

Peebles is a lot more expensive than Innerleithen for houses (bigger town, schools, jobs, commutable to Edinburgh), but it's not quite Edinburgh prices. Walkerburn is dirt cheap.
I live in Peebles and stuff seems to be selling if priced right. Every spring the For Sale signs go up, but only the cheaper ones come down. But my street is primo first time buyer territory, the people that aren't coming out to play just now.
There are a couple of local estate agents in Peebles might be worth a wander in.
