Just re-fitted the automatic (concealed) door closers on our fire doors some 6 years after we got rid of the cat that prompted their removal.
It makes quite a noise when the door slams though. Can you get some kind of damping? Or is it just a case of reducing spring tension? Is it possible on all of them or just some?
If its a PERKO typelong cylinder with bike chain attached to 2 plates, open door, and insert small nail in link of vchain near the door, remove plate, on frame, dont let door shut, now pull on cjhain with pliers and turn antoi clockwise to soften pull or clockwise to strengthen pull, re fit screws in plate, and remove pin with pliers, keep fingers well away, repeat as required.
overhead door closers have more of a damping latch action
some one must do a shock absorber type thing which stops it slamming...
Kitchen cupboard door buffers work reasonably well.
