Well I suspect that it is for multiple reasons, don't you? And I suspect that becoming less educated since Obama's presidency probably doesn't figure very high

I look at the UK and think that we have become WAY more resentful, xenophobic and disdainful of intellect since then - a Christian member of our little am dram group has just posted a grotesque and overtly racist "joke" on his Facebook, I don't think for a minute they would have done that a decade ago. It's way more overt now than it was back then.

The United States swung to the right at the last presidential election. The UK on the other hand did the opposite at the last general election and swung to the left, or at least voters were hoodwinked into believing that they had.

If you want to try to understand why America voted for Trump I would suggest forgetting about Brexit, or a significant change in the demographics of the US electorate, neither provide a compelling explanation.

Well if your point is that there has been a 'change in public opinion' I will agree with you one hundred percent, obviously there has been. And I am sure that there are multiple reasons for that.

The same uneducated, resentful, xenophobic, and disdainful of intellect, electorate, voted for Barack Obama. The demographics of an electorate doesn't change that dramatically in just a dozen years.

kind of, the bill has some huuuge tax cuts especially for the richest, and big military spending & stuff like that insane wall that Mexico was supposed to pay for last time, all this means the bill will add trillions! to Americas debt

I just don’t think you can assume that rule of law is still going to be a a given in the US , Trump seems to be gunning for it, this may eventually come to nothing and he folds but with the subtle extras in the big beautiful bill and the project. 2025 agenda there is a definite push to give el Presidente total control.

PM Fico (Slovakia) and Orban are still taking Russian gas contrary to EU sanctions and both have been warned on that by EU Energy Commissioner Dan Jørgensen.
Fico is looking likely to hold a snap election early next year before the anticipated increase in energy prices caused by EU pressure. He's head of a coalition government at the moment

Section 899 basically gives them the ability to impose taxes on dividends from US companies being paid to foreign investors based on whether Don likes their country. Yet another reason for the rest of the world not to invest in the USA!
There doesn't appear to be too much "noise " from Trumps chat with Putin, on here and in the mainstream media, to some extent. The only thing I've heard is Putin wants/will retaliate for the drone attack. Hardly a surprise there. But no other talk of further meetings between the warring countries or in fact anything else. Does anyone else get the sense Trump 's interest is waning or has someone in the " industrial military complex" had a quiet word in his ear and mentioned that the US is doing quite well out of all of this?

I’d say yes, the biggest problem is that no-one has yet successfully come up with a way to counteract the flooding playbook other than not report on any Trump activity.
