I suspect that even Donny knows he won't get the wall built - but not only does he just have to show that he's trying his hardest, he'll undoubtedly take the opportunity to make political capital out of being blocked. Which will all go down well with his core support - that 30% or so of the US population who do still support him.

So it turns out that when Trump said:

"James Comey better hope there are no 'tapes' of our conversations"

What he actually meant was: "Actually I have no 'tapes' of our conversation that can refute his testimony" 😆

#FakeNews!!!!
http://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-06-28/trumps-framed-time-magazine-cover-revealed-as-fake-news/8658432

Time Magazine has asked the Trump organisation to take down any framed copies of a fake cover featuring Donald Trump, which have been prominently displayed in at least five of the US President's golf clubs.

The photoshopped image, which appears alongside a headline claiming the Apprentice is a "television smash", was uncovered by a Washington Post reporter as he was visiting one of Mr Trump's properties.

But the cover, which also says "Trump is hitting on all fronts … even TV", claims to be from the March 1, 2009 issue of the magazine.

There was no Time issue released on that date.

Upon further examination, the Post also found several other "telling mistakes" in the cover, including a skinnier red border, no white border and an issue with the placement of the secondary headlines.

"I can confirm that this is not a real TIME cover," a spokeswoman for Time Inc wrote in an email to The Washington Post.

The Magazine also confirmed they had asked the Trump organisation to remove the cover from display.

^ bahaha

They seem like strange secondary headlines for the Donald to have picked?

I've been away for a bit, just catching up on this thread - that last post has redeemed it somewhat.

Wouldn't it be "The Apprentice" is a television smash, rather than The "Apprentice" is a television smash?

Also, wasn't he actually awarded Time magazine's 'Man of the Year' last year? Why would you go to the effort of knocking up a pretty lame cover boasting about your very average TV show?

Is it just that Trump is more proud of the Apprentice than anything else?

Strange man...

It's quite extraordinary, I've a few friends over the pond, some of whom are long standing Republicans and who greeted Trump's presidency with enthusiasm. They are all, without exception completely silent on the presidency, aside from some backslapping when Trump withdrew from the Paris Accords.

I can't help thinking that Trump is a useful idiot for another agenda. Pence is waiting in the wings and has distanced himself from the Russia controversy.

(un)Fortunately for trump he's managed to break his Twitter hiatus and the news is all about his latest clusterfudge

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/jun/30/mika-brzezinski-joe-scarborough-donald-trump

That and the fact that he's still failed to get his trumpcare off the ground...

Not to mention that his travel ban has been a humiliating debacle and has had to be altered considerably and still faces legal challenges

He's still just as clueless as ever and that swamp as never been deeper !

Yes, I think this is the strategy. Get as much of the toxic tax-cutting legislation passed under Trump as possible, dump the clown closer to the election and say 'it wasn't us, guv'.

So the oppositions keep thinking that the more they talk about the "discontent" in the Republic camp the greater the chances of the oppositions winning ... that's just silly. The basic reason is simple their time is over for a long time.

The oppositions need to win election first but fortunately they are not going to win any election for a long time. 😆

Alex Jones will be disappointed. There was Donald, on his show, telling him his reputation was amazing, and that he wouldn't let him down.

And now he's consorting with one of the perpetrators of the biggest bits of #fakenews ever!

I see that Donald has trolled and upset CNN quite marvellously

Aparrently he's "promoting violence" - you would think that even CNN knew that wrestling was fake 😆

As Scott says, look behind the media outrage (media talking about the media) and you see that ISIS are being defeated, US economy is on the up, the world hasn't ended - even CNN commentators are admitting in private that Russia is a big fat nothingburger - the stuff that matters is all going well.

Sorry, I thought Trump being in office was going to cause plague, pestilence, disaster, nuclear war, climateageddon and civil war?

You appear to have now downgraded Trump from 'dangerous' to 'insignificant' - rather like Scott Adams predicted -
that's not only pretty big climbdown on your behalf, but just goes to prove how hyped up and disingenuous the anti-trump rhetoric was from the start 😆

and you see that ISIS are being defeated,

is it time to declare victory again? huge rise in civillian casulaties as theyve pushed into cities, more drones and bombs, than ever, relations with N Korea, China, the EU, Mexico, even australia at recent lows, looking good with Russia tho, Trump isnt even able to openly visit the UK, coz he too scared of being humilliated

US economy is on the up
, not as good as it was but still doing well enough, still hasnt helped the poor of the US though

still no healthcare reform, walls being built, travel ban has just about been partially implemented, hillary is still a free woman!

Oh he, his family and closest advisors are still under investigation over how much they were involved in hacking the US election, he had to fire his own FBI head

passing Trumps first few months off as normal is a joke, though I suppose really you are saying that at best hes not ended civilisation, well thats quite a high bar !

proof? evidence? probably too much to ask.
Care to list the things he has actually achieved
I think we have about 2% of his muslim ban (his words), a non existent health bill, and not much else. Meanwhile domestic terrorism by white gun toting nut jobs is on the increase.

But for a quick check
Racist
Homophobic
Authoritarian
Hates his neighbours
Wants to lock people up
Wants a massive military ramp up
Promises everything to the poor and stupid with no real way to deliver

Honestly it's a fair comparison.

Trump is “much more resilient” than his opponents allow, said Newt Gingrich, the former House speaker, before pivoting to a plug for his new book, Understanding Trump.

The past two weeks illustrate how, when on the ropes, Trump can still throw some punches that at least get him to the bell. And he makes sure his 33m Twitter followers know about it.

33 million don't just follow to admire, some like to laugh at him
Then the president headed to Iowa to bask in the adulation of his supporters in the forum he likes best, a campaign-style rally. When he ranted against the “dishonest media” and floated the idea of solar panels on his border wall, the crowd lapped it up. Trevor Noah, host of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, commented: “You know what was really impressive to see last night? How Trump supporters are so onboard with their dude he can say anything and they’ll come along for the ride.”

So he keeps running back to the people who like him, that ever decreasing number
Try this one
https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/politics-podcast-who-makes-up-the-base/
Then came the veterans event at the White House where, under the gaze of portraits of George Washington and Teddy Roosevelt, Trump projected himself as a man who gets things done.

projected is the key word, despite being so much the TV presenter and publicist he is still projecting and delivering very little

I could go on but in the end it's possible he is just muddling along and every week he goes on he has to throw all his energy and political capital into just staying afloat he can't really deliver anything meaningful without upsetting most of his party - it is an achievement to piss off the slightly resonable republicans and the tea party at the same time.

World population reduction is a natural way for earth to recycle so let it be ... 😛

Why do you want so many people on earth anyway only to endure (ensure) suffering of not having enough food to eat.

Wouldn't it be better with lesser population where people have enough to eat and not compete with animals for food? 😯

lets just check his environmental credentials
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/donald-trump-coal-rivers-regulation-scrapped-law-a7584916.html

President Donald Trump has put the brakes on a regulation blocking coal mining debris from being dumped into nearby streams.

Trump called the stream protection regulation a “job-killing rule” before he signed a measure to overturn it.

It's not going to resurrect coal, it's going to cause people who can't afford health care health problems.

I think we can all agree that if he manages to do something good it's entirely by accident as he is thoroughly incompetent and unfit for government.

You and Scott are the ones calling him Hitler, in fact you keep saying it more than anyone else.
We use a more sensible term like a fascist which is much more realistic. Perhaps you could use the 2 ears one mouth, use in that proportion to see how his ideas sit - though I feel they mirror your own too much.

Lomburg is not one of the 95 percent of scientists.

Its only layman like you ninfan that are bowled over by his bullshit arguments.

The problem is that the media treat his opinion with equal weight to proper scientists but don't have the expertise to challenge him or spot outright lies - this legitimises him in the eyes of fools everywhere.

Wrong, because Forum rules state that its forbidden to

"deliberately force a reaction from any other users"

Which I'm not

I'm disagreeing with you on Trump because I fundamentally think you're wrong about him, and because history has told us that all the (often hysterical) predictions the whining lefties made about Trump* have repeatedly turned out wrong.

The fact that certain people of a weak constitution who don't have a sense of humour get upset about that is just gravy, its quite categorically their own problem and character flaw, not anything that I set out to achieve.

happy now?

*(hell, lets just expand that, on pretty much everything, Trump, Brexit, UK election results, global warming, to name but a few)
