yeah he is a ****, but it is hardly national news, he bangs her bike and she is unbalanced and falls over.

Typical e-biker behaviour, sadly, that we're only going to see more and more of 🙁

Little girl didn't seem too badly hurt, fortunately.

Bet there are not many Santa Cruz bikes in that area!? He should hand himself in and publicly apologise to the girl and family.

Shocked he just rode off.

Hope this doesn't put the poor girl off riding her bike.

The Daily Fail has close ups from the footage. Just don't read the bile in the comments.

Say wut.

There's a Santacruz dealer a couple of miles away that sells a lot of bikes.

Yep plenty of SC’s around here, I have one and that place is 1km from me, it wasn’t me. Though wonder why report to West Mercia police when it’s a West Mids police area

Excellent reporting - Sun describes it a pavement but it appears to be a cobbled street.  Mail describes him as Lycra lout - but it looks to me like he is waring baggies.  And nobody thought it was odd that the father chased after the rider rather than see to his daughter.

Yeah, reading some STW about how people would lay into somebody for that plenty wouldn't fancy going back

The guy on the bike is a prat but dear God some of the follow on videos on that Daily Mail link!! Guy being shot 20 odd times in the street, female parking attendant having the crap beat out of her.  When did that sort of stuff start appearing on the website of dailies?

He was caught between two worlds which is understandable IMHO - wanting to hit the guy with a brick and concern for your nearest and dearest, and soon gets his priorities straight. Would have been odd if he'd legged the guy half a mile down the road.

Numerous cyclists, walkerists, and even bridges are hit every day by  fellow road users, strangely the media hype never  seems to be aimed at those errant drivers etc, the s.. and the hate mail appear to be running with this story, for whatever reason, its just a click bait story.

Hope the small child is un injured and not to upset to ditch their bike.

Looked like the family were pushing what is clearly a DH trail while he was sending a massive blind jump off that lip, so probably their fault.

🙂

For about a third of a second.  I'd probably have done the same thing.

that's what his missus was for, his job was to try and catch the c*** and jump on his head, repeatedly.

repeatedly.

Cant imagine why someone would decide to ride on instead.

TBF most people would need to unpack their keyboard first but there is a chance of things all kicking off before anyone manages an apology for their kid getting in the way of a valid KOM

Needs to learn to not watch the front wheel? The only thing I can think of as to why he didn't abort that little drop.

Poor situationional awareness to ride into the group but he looks back to see a bloke chasing and maybe (no sound on my device) shouting and thinks f that and rides off.

if the other cyclists had given him a few punches who would have been the Lycra lout then?

Absolute Dick. He even does a little wheelie as he accelerates through the "gap" .

He was probably on a Strava segement. Shame on him for not stopping to apologise.

Was prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt before watching the video as pedestrians usually meander along without any awareness of their surroundings but jesus what a cock that rider is.

Probably also needs a guardian or socialist worker link as im sure many on here wouldnt want to click on sun or dailymail links.

Didn't spot it in the Guardian this morning although there is a good piece of the evolution of skateboarding photography.

If the rider was using strava and stupid enough not to of deleted his ride then it may be possible to find him.

This segment ends where he knocked her off.

https://www.strava.com/segments/4685521

A quick look filtered by 2018 shows it was ridden a few times on that day but I cant find how to check what time they started/ended the segment and haven't got time to look at the moment.

Anyone else fancy looking? The incident took place on the 8/07/18 at 01:03:57pm according to the security camera

Wish I hadn't looked at the comments.

Apparently that is normal behaviour for any cyclist. Especially when the Tour de France is on.

Pass the information on to the police.

In my opinion it should be treated similar to being hit and run by a car.

I think it's street art.

Notice the way that the little girl (the people) has been ****ted by the man on the bike ( the system) and then rode off with no consequence.

I think it's powerful and the most important piece that I've  seen in this century.

Shed Boat Shed set a very high bar. This is right up there.

I'm still trying to work out what expletive has been * out. Assuming the *'s represent a letter.

* * * * T ?

What a horrid man. With quite a distinguishable bike. I'm sure he will be fine, there's no such thing as Karma in Stourbridge. I think it's near Walsall.   (West Mids in joke there...)

Am I the only one who see the little girl change direction last minute causing the accident? Yes the guy was being a bit of a dick going a little fast but is committed to the wall, when the girl moves into his exit line. It was an accident, these things happen.

PS I live the area, but don't own a SC, and don't know who this is..

Most probably.  He was going too fast considering that he had to pass some slow riders in a small gap.

Not a big deal though as no doubt the girl has fallen off many times on her own but the rider should have stopped, apologized, potentially got into a fight with the father etc,.

an accident implies it was unavoidable.

it was clearly avoidable by not riding like a ****.

Rash decision to ride at that speed past anyone tbh. In my experience, even shouting 'Passing on your right' causes people to scatter in every direction, including the right.

A regrettable lapse in judgement that resulting in an accident, that could have been prevented by recognising when it is safe to ride at speed.

Thanks! Now I've seen the video, I can safely say if that was my kid I'd be pissed off, but nothing really to worked up about is it!? Girl stumbles... is basically the story. I bet she'll forget all about it before the internet, or her dad.

Yep about my thoughts there DezB but at least we have blamed strava, ebikes, threatened to jump on his head etc so everyone can feel better about it.

At least it wasn't a horse he hit

Point of order; no it doesn’t. ‘Accident’ merely implies that it wasn’t intentional, so is most likely the most accurate descriptor.

as you were...

Its proper dick riding though.

Hops off a little wall and basically lands on the girl.

Gnarpoon Hero 1 has probably seen the family and thought "I'll just hop off this wall past them proving how amazingly Strava rad I am while also not having to slow down.  All my plastic mates who also ride plastic bikes will be totally impressed when I tell them down the pub over a pint of Carbon Dickhead IPA."

Plan goes to shit as he send a sweet manual off the lip and the girl moves to her right and he just about lands on her.

He should have stopped and apologised for riding like an utter fanny instead of scurrying off to the delight of tabloid clickbait editors everywhere.

Still he's not wearing lycra and that's clearly not a pavement
