Does seem to be turning into a bit of a "Radio 1 DJ" party, doesn't it.

Was on the news earlier, seems it's a couple of claims which DLT denies, gonna be difficult to prove either way I guess.

..."Radio 1 DJ" party...

I can't imagine they'll be dragging Jimmy Young in for a grilling anytime soon.

Well, John Peel got a 15 year old girl pregnant...

was wondering about this the other day when the 'john peel lectures' were on.

is there any chance of anyone looking in to him, or is he too saintly for anyone to touch? not long ago sirjimmy was untouchable, and it sounds as though john peel implicated himself in his autobiography (so I hear)

Dave

I heard DLT changed his name to LTO.

I once saw Gordon The Gofer playing with himself on a train to Liverpool.

John Peel's dead, so they can't arrest him.

This pic

I be they are waiting outside every 70s & 80s DJ's house.. in hope they can name the "unnamed" men before the police do.
Simon Bates' house, earlier

Andy Kershaw's house, earlier

Peter Powell's house, earlier

It seems that almost anyone who can misbehave, has been...
African dictators
MPs
Bankers
Businessmen
Footballers
Pro cyclists
Drivers
RLJers
Radio One DJs

Hold on - where have they mentioned children, what i read mentioned 17yr olds.

There is no suggestion that any allegations of paedophilia have been made against Mr Travis, but two women have come forward in recent weeks claiming he groped them during the 1970s and 1980s.

groping was the only way to make sure you got a bed for the night when i was a youngun. The fatties were always appreciative and guaranteed you somewhere cheaper to stay than a taxi home.

Twas a bit of a giveaway the other week when Liz Kershaw went public with her "I was groped by a DJ while live on air" story and the paper put a photo of DLT next to the piece with a caption along the lines of "DLT was also a DJ at Radio 1 at the time".

yes, and

he was on my 'who will be next' list

If the offender is in a recognised position of trust then the age limit is under 18 in current law. Can't be retrospectively applied, just mention it as a point of interest; you can be prosecuted for 'consensual' sexual activity with someone who is over the legal age of consent.

Wrong? Yes. Worthy of prosecution if there is evidence? Yes. Paedophile? No as they were 17.

mike; no, just controversially bringing a bit of interesting fact and law that I thought was relevant to an STW thread for the sake of conversation which is why I "just mentioned it as a point of interest". Same applies for "indecent images of children" with the adult age being 18, so there is a specific defence of marriage; if you were 19 and took kinky pictures of your 17yr old girlfriend you could expect to have your house burnt down by a pitchfork-wielding mob as the law could brand you a paedophile. In reality the police/CPS would probably decide it wasnt in the public interest to prosecute, but it's an offence in law.

Won't happen again, sorry 😀
