The NHS website says to avoid pools for two weeks after diarrhea symptoms pass. Thought this seemed a bit excessively cautious, but obviously don't want to go around making people ill. Spoke to a colleague at work with two school children (one of whom trains seriously for regional competitions) who wasn't familiar with that timeframe and thought 48hrs more usual. What would/do you do/think/know about this?

I’d follow the NHS advice rather than a friend says.

How would you feel about swimming through someone else's chum trails?

Yes, he is in what it actually looks like.

Worst case scenario for the op though admittedly.

Surely you could have been of assistance there?

I'm sure swimming through effluent will have a galvanising effect on our immune systems which help fend off this virus malarky.

slightly off topic but I once marshalled at an "olympics" at the local sports centre for children with additional needs.

The Breast Stroke final was cancelled as someone dropped a floater.
