Dolcered - Why wasn' t he looking for a shotgun though.

^^This. First thing to do when discovering you're in the zombie apocalypse? Acquire shotgun and melee weapon (preferably baseball bat/cricket bat/frying pan). Obviously.

Remember this? Seems funny to begin with but I'd hope my friends would have pulled me out if I'd been that frightened.

That was pretty funny.
The guy was a dropout and he had a ps3- he
must know about zombies.
I hope he will raise his game in part 2.

It would've been awesome if he stabbed some of the 'zombies'.

I thought loads of it seemed really wooden and staged as well. Still fun to watch though ๐Ÿ™‚

I couldn't sit and watch it without the cynical view that it was a complete load of staged balls for TV and for that - I'm out

... the only 21 year old bloke who doesn't swear - and in the face of zombie apocalypse - and that was only one of obvious oddities. The point of the illusion-setup is that it is on us. That is what magicians do.

It's hard to try and imagine what reaction or emotional response anyone would have to such an unbelievable (and movie themed) disaster/event, but something about his response and actions thus far doesn't ring true.

Likewise, I'm out.

Wouldn't DB have used the force to stop him swearing?

I love Derren Brown and really enjoyed the show. But if "Steve" isn't an actor who's in on the whole thing, I'll show my arse in Woolies' window.

staged balls for TV

Never, how could you suggest such a thing. This is as authentic as a Top Gear race 'special'

Cockneys vs Zombies however looks fun

Re: the Roulette thing. I watched that live, with the words of Johnny Ball echoing in my head, "it's a trick. Of course it's a trick." Even so, it was some of the best telly I'd watched in ages. Utterly compelling.

Derren Brown lies through his teeth, but he's so very, very good at it.

Cockneys vs Zombies however looks fun

It got a favourable write-up in SFX not so long ago.

We thought it was pants.

He looked properly scared.

Wonder if they interview him now, just to see how he's coping.

I lost interest when they installed the "hidden" cameras..... actually that's not quite true. Lost Interest when I realised I was watching Derren Brown. No shortage of staged fake telly though so it must work.

Still, horses for courses and all that.

Do you think the iPhone hacking bit was fake? Seemed a bit convenient...

Watching it now, even if it is fake, still a good bit of entertainment!

This not sure what the point is as it is just an elaborate staged fake with a person responding to the stimuli

Where exactly is the trick here?

Nah, he had to be in on it - because if they thought it was real there's no way on earth you could have stopped any bloke from picking up a blunt object and smashing some zombie heads in!

I don't see that as concluding argument! He thinks they are infected and they look like they could attack you - so you would RUN AWAY!!!

So some bloke is duped into thinking there's a load of zombies swanning about. He thinks it's totally real?
Anyone else think that morally that's a bit wrong?
Scaring the shit out of some poor sod for public entertainment.

Well, he volunteered in the first place. Allegedly, anyway.

Missed the second one, damn it.

My lady couldn't understand where I was coming from when I expressed my concerns.
It's properly savage.

I'm positive if I ended up truly thinking I was in a zombie movie I would go a bit Rambo....

He did look genuinely scared but sure it's got to be a hoax

Just watched it on 4OD. The wizard of oz references were as subtle as a brick (Kansas Auto, Leona, balloon logo on copter and his explicit references to courage, heart and brains...). Entertaining though

No sharpened broomhandles to pop the "zombies" brains? That'd be the first thing on my agenda!
